U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Russia has 10 days to reach an agreement on the war in Ukraine. Should Moscow refuse, Washington will impose new economic restrictions, including tariffs. At the same time, Trump admitted the war is likely to last longer than previously anticipated.

This is reported by the Clash Report.

On July 29, during a conversation with journalists, Donald Trump issued a clear ultimatum to the Kremlin: Moscow has 10 days to reach an agreement on the war in Ukraine.

“You know what, I’ll tell you right now. Want a big story? Are you ready? Ten days from today. Got it? I’m giving Putin 10 days, starting today,” Trump said, emphasizing the urgency of the deadline for Russia.

The U.S. leader warned that on the 11th day, if Moscow fails to act, the United States will introduce tariffs and other economic measures. He admitted uncertainty about whether these steps would change Putin’s course but stressed that Washington would respond firmly.

“We’re going to impose tariffs and various other measures. It may or may not affect them,” the President said.

At the same time, Trump publicly acknowledged for the first time that the war in Ukraine is likely to last longer than expected. In his view, the conflict is dragging on—although, he added, it “could be easily resolved” if both sides were willing to compromise.

The President also expressed disappointment at the lack of response from the Kremlin: “I haven’t received any response from Putin. It’s a shame.”

By the way, US President Donald Trump said that he is no longer interested in meeting with Russian dictator Putin.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced a new deadline for Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine. The new ultimatum was 10–12 days.

Recall, on July 28, US President Donald Trump said that he plans to shorten the deadline for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to reach a ceasefire in Ukraine. The day before, the Donald Trump administration announced that it would impose secondary sanctions and tariffs against Russia if a ceasefire is not achieved in Ukraine within 50 days.
