US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of an additional 10 percent tariff on imports from all countries of the world.
He stated this during a press conference.
Trump said all national security tariffs under Section 232 and current restrictions under Section 301 remain in effect. He said he would sign an executive order imposing a global 10% tariff under Section 122, which would be in addition to the duties already imposed.
“From this moment on, all tariffs remain in full legal force,” he said.
The President also commented on court decisions regarding tariff policy and emphasized that he would continue the course regardless of the court’s position.
“Foreign countries that have robbed us for years are delighted. They are dancing in the streets, but they won’t dance for long,” Trump said.
After that, he stated that the court was under the influence of foreign interests, but his administration would continue to implement the tariff policy and introduce an additional 10% duty.
As previously reported, the US Supreme Court has ruled that the global tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump in April are illegal. The decision was made by a majority of 6 votes to 3.
Recall that United States President Donald Trump announced the introduction of a new trade policy that provides for a 100% tariff on patented and branded medicines imported into the United States. The corresponding restrictions will come into effect on October 1, 2025.
