Trump invited European leaders to join his meeting with Zelensky

US President Donald Trump has invited European leaders to a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which will take place on Monday, August 18, at the White House.

This was reported by The New York Times.

As noted, during the meeting, Trump plans to discuss with Zelensky a way to end the war by transferring to Russia the territories that it was unable to capture.

European officials have also been invited to the White House meeting, but it is currently unknown which of them will arrive in the United States.

As a reminder, Putin suggested that Ukraine withdraw its troops from the Ukrainian-controlled territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions as a first step towards ending the war .

As is known, during a conversation with Zelensky and European leaders, Trump stated that the Russian dictator’s plans for Donbas remained unchanged .

By the way, the Russian army, given the political situation, may increase pressure and strikes against Ukrainian positions in the coming days in order to create favorable circumstances for “talks with global actors.”
