US President Donald Trump is considering resuming strikes on Iran after the US midterm elections scheduled for November 3. Tehran is preparing for a new US military campaign and may retaliate against Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

This is reported by Bloomberg .

The war in the Middle East is approaching its eighth month and the risk of escalation is growing. The US has sent a third aircraft carrier strike group and an additional 10,000 sailors and marines to the Persian Gulf to prepare for a possible resumption of hostilities.

This week, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited Israel and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. At the same time, the US State Department ordered the evacuation of some diplomats and their families from Saudi Arabia due to attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthis.

According to a source familiar with Tehran’s position, Iran is preparing for possible American strikes after the US elections and is planning corresponding actions in the region. Representatives of the Persian Gulf countries also fear that the new escalation could be more extensive than previous hostilities.

“We’ve pretty much crushed them – and maybe we’ll do it some more,” Trump told reporters.

At the same time, American strikes are unlikely to begin before the elections on November 3. High fuel prices caused by the war could worsen the Republican Party’s position in the congressional elections.

Diplomatic attempts to end the conflict have so far yielded no results. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated Tehran’s readiness to return to talks with the United States, provided they seek a final settlement to the war.

The conflict is also affecting global energy markets, with Brent crude prices up more than 80% this year due to disruptions to energy supplies from the Persian Gulf. New attacks on Saudi Arabia have heightened fears of further price increases.

It was previously reported that Iran could attack American data centers, communication cables, and artificial intelligence infrastructure in the Middle East if large-scale hostilities resume. Tehran has also stated that a protracted war with the United States is beneficial to Iran.
