Trump made a new statement about the end of the war in Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that Ukraine and Russia will eventually reach an agreement to end the war.
He stated this during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Trump said he recently had a lengthy phone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, followed by a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I think they both want to reach an agreement. It’s a shame it took so long, but I think something will happen, something will work out,” the US president said.
He also noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is actively involved in peace efforts aimed at ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump separately stated that he was shocked by the scale of destruction on the front, noting that modern warfare is largely waged using drones.
“I’ve seen images from those battlefields—it’s drone warfare. It’s a completely new development. People won’t even believe how brutal this war is,” he noted.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump intends to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the NATO summit in Turkey. Following his talks with Zelenskyy, the American leader will likely contact Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
