US Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem said that Homeland Security will paint the entire wall on the border with Mexico black to make the metal hotter.
“This will be done specifically at the request of President Trump, who understands that in hot weather conditions down here, when something is painted black, it gets even hotter and it’s even harder for people to climb. So we’re going to paint the entire southern border wall black to keep people from entering our country illegally,” Noem said.
US Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks said the paint will also help prevent rust on the wall.
It is known that the decision to paint the wall came after more than 6,000 people were detained at the border with Mexico in June, which is 15% less than the previous record in March.
It was previously reported that the US is preparing to send thousands of foreigners to the Guantanamo detention center, including citizens of Ukraine and Europe, without informing the governments of these countries in advance .
