US President Donald Trump said that the US and Iran had held talks, following which he ordered a five-day suspension of strikes.

He wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.

Trump said that negotiations to resolve the conflict in the Middle East have been ongoing for the past two days. He called them “deep, detailed and constructive.”

According to him, negotiations will also continue this week.

The US president added that he had instructed the US military to postpone all strikes on Iranian targets for five days.

“I have instructed the Department of Defense to postpone all military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days, subject to the success of the current meetings and discussions,” Trump wrote.

Recall, on February 28, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States had launched a military campaign in Iran.

As US Vice President J.D. Vance said, the main goal of the US regarding Iran is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons .
