US President Donald Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has fulfilled his promise regarding the timing of the so-called “energy truce.”
He said this while speaking to reporters at the White House.
According to Trump, the pause in strikes lasted from Sunday, January 25, to Sunday, February 1. After it ended, Russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine.
“The pause lasted from Sunday to Sunday. It ended, and he hit them hard last night. He kept his word. One week is a long time, we’ll take everything, because it’s very cold there,” the US president said.
Asked by reporters if he was disappointed that the pause did not last longer, Trump emphasized that his main goal was ending the war.
“I want them to end the war,” he added.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the agreement on a so-called “energy truce” with Russia for the winter cold period.
Earlier, it was reported that People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko confirmed that Ukraine and Russia have reached an agreement on an “energy truce.”
As is known, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on information circulating online about an alleged “energy truce” between Ukraine and Russia.
