US President Donald Trump said that Iran has agreed to hand over enriched uranium left over from US strikes on nuclear facilities. Iran has not officially confirmed this information, and negotiations between the parties are ongoing.

This is reported by The Washington Post .

According to Donald Trump, this is about so-called “nuclear dust” – enriched uranium, which, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency, is underground after US strikes on three nuclear facilities in June.

“Iran does not have nuclear weapons, and they agreed to that. They also agreed to return to us the nuclear dust that is deep underground after the attack that we carried out with the help of B-2 bombers,” said Donald Trump.

At the same time, the Iranian side has not confirmed the achievement of such agreements within the framework of negotiations with the US and through the mediation of Pakistan. Previous statements by the American side regarding Iran’s nuclear obligations have repeatedly been unconfirmed or refuted.

As journalists note, the transfer of enriched uranium stocks could be a significant step in curbing Iran’s nuclear program, but it does not resolve the issue of the possibility of further enrichment.

Negotiations between the parties continue amid a ceasefire that is set to expire soon. US Vice President J.D. Vance held talks with Iranian representatives in Islamabad, but no agreement was reached.

“Iran wants to make a deal, and we are negotiating very well. They are willing to do things that they would not agree to two months ago,” Donald Trump added.

Iran insists its nuclear program is exclusively civilian, while the United States continues to consider the possibility of a forceful scenario if negotiations fail.

US Defense Secretary Pete Haagseth said the country was prepared for further action in the event of an escalation. He said the US was “prepared to carry out further strikes” on dual-use facilities if an agreement was not reached.

Negotiations remain at an early stage, with the parties continuing to exchange signals regarding a possible new round of meetings.

Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a recent strike on an Iranian nuclear facility where they were working on developing nuclear weapons.

Recall that on March 3, the Israeli military announced the destruction of an Iranian nuclear facility located on the outskirts of Tehran .
