US President Donald Trump said he supports a possible offensive by Kurdish groups into Iran .
He said this in a telephone interview with Reuters .
Trump said he was open to the idea of the Kurds launching offensive actions.
“I think it’s great that they want to do this, I would be all for it,” the US President noted.
At the same time, Trump did not answer reporters’ questions about whether the US would provide air support to the Iranian Kurds, or had already offered it. He emphasized, however, that the primary goal of such actions should be victory.
“If they’re going to do it, that’s good,” he added.
As a reminder, on February 28, Israel launched preemptive strikes against Iran and also attacked Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon . A state of emergency was declared throughout the country.
It later emerged that the strikes on Iran were a joint operation between Israel and the United States . Following this, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States had launched a military campaign in Iran .
Iran also struck naval targets near the UAE capital Abu Dhabi , including the French naval base Camp de la Paix and near the German cruise ship Mein Schiff 4.
