US President Donald Trump wants to agree to end Russia’s war against Ukraine by August 8.

This was announced by senior American diplomat John Kelly to the 15 members of the UN Council.

He stated that President Trump has made it clear that he wants to make a deal to end Russia’s war in Ukraine by August 8.

“Both Russia and Ukraine must agree to a ceasefire and a lasting peace. The time has come to make a deal. President Trump has made it clear that this must be done by August 8,” said diplomat John Kelly.

He also added that the United States is prepared to take additional measures to ensure peace.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump said that he is no longer interested in meeting with Russian dictator Putin.

As reported, US President Donald Trump said that Russia has 10 days to reach an agreement on the war in Ukraine. If it refuses, Washington will impose new economic restrictions, including tariffs. At the same time, Trump acknowledged that the war will last longer than expected.

By the way, according to sources, the current US president is offering Putin peace on terms that could be beneficial to Russia, but the Kremlin is refusing . Trump, who until recently avoided open confrontation with Moscow and even considered recognizing the annexation of Crimea, is now openly putting pressure on Putin. The turning point was his agreement to support the transfer of weapons to Ukraine through European partners — a decision that analysts call “belated but critically important.”
