Trump wants to sign a new nuclear arms treaty with Russia

Donald Trump has said he would like to prepare a new Strategic Offensive Arms Reduction Treaty between the United States and Russia.
He stated this while talking to journalists.
Journalists asked Trump if he planned to further reduce nuclear weapons in the world, and he replied: “I would like that. But this (the expiration of the treaty, – ed.) is a problem for the whole world.”
He also noted that the US and Russia have limits on nuclear weapons. Trump also said that he does not want this agreement to expire. That is why he is working on a new one.
The American president added that the rapid expiration of the Treaty is “a big problem for the whole world.”
Trump previously stated that the United States could impose sanctions against Russia and its energy buyers in less than 50 days .
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he intends to hold phone conversations with US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin this week . The purpose of these contacts is to organize a meeting to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
