Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger said that US President Donald Trump was ready to make radical concessions to the Kremlin, effectively agreeing to the annexation of Crimea and part of the occupied territories of Ukraine.

She said this in an interview with the German publication Die Welt .

Beate Meinl-Reisinger noted that Donald Trump actually declared his willingness to “give” Crimea, Melitopol, and part of the eastern regions of Ukraine to Russia in exchange for ending the war.

“He handed Crimea and eastern Ukraine to Putin, so to speak, on a silver platter,” the minister said.

In addition to territorial concessions, Trump also allegedly agreed to remove the issue of Ukraine’s NATO membership from the international agenda — thus depriving Kyiv of strategic protection.

In response, according to the Austrian head of diplomacy, Putin not only did not agree to peace, but on the contrary, he intensified the war with unprecedented intensity.

“If Putin wanted peace, he would have already initiated negotiations. But instead, there is a devastating war, huge losses, a growing number of coffins, a catastrophic economy,” Meinl-Reisinger emphasized.

The Austrian minister emphasized that, unlike the aggressor, Ukraine demonstrates readiness for peace, while the Russian side only continues its offensive, despite internal losses and weakening.

She noted that Russia will lose the war in the long run as it faces growing social, economic, and military crises.

By the way, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stressed that Donald Trump is losing patience with the lack of progress in peace talks to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Trump previously stated that the United States could impose sanctions against Russia and its energy buyers in less than 50 days .

On the eve, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he intends to hold telephone conversations with US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin this week . The purpose of these contacts is to organize a meeting to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
