US President Donald Trump is suggesting the possibility of reducing American military forces in Europe if it helps convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a peace agreement on Ukraine.

He stated this on August 14, answering a question about a possible reduction in the contingent, in particular in Poland.

According to Trump: “That question hasn’t been asked to me yet. Maybe I’ll think about it later, but it hasn’t been asked yet.”

Thus, although there have been no official proposals to reduce troops so far, Trump is leaving this possibility open as a political lever to push for peace.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump stated that he does not seek to impose new sanctions against Russia, preferring diplomacy and negotiations . At the same time, he emphasized his readiness to apply economic restrictions if the situation requires it.

As reported, US President Donald Trump is ready to offer Ukraine security guarantees – but outside the North Atlantic Alliance.
