“Trump’s words are false”: Iran denies claims of ceasefire request

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has denied US President Donald Trump’s statement that Tehran had requested a ceasefire.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry denied Trump’s words, calling them “false and baseless.”
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the new president of Iran had offered Washington a ceasefire between the two countries.
He added that the US would consider the issue when “the Strait of Hormuz is open, free and clear.”
The other day, Trump announced that the US and Iran had held talks, following which he ordered a five-day halt to strikes .
Later, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported that there were no direct negotiations with the US , and Trump did not abandon his military plans.
