Turkey, Egypt, and India are working on possible formats for a partial ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. The issues include shipping safety in the Black Sea, grain exports, and a possible energy truce.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga in an interview with Ukrinform .
Ukraine has already discussed possible parameters of agreements with Turkey and Egypt and confirmed its readiness for “fair solutions.”
“Currently, the issue of implementing these plans depends only on Russia’s readiness. Contacts between the Egyptian and Turkish sides and the Russians are ongoing,” Sibiga emphasized.
India is working on a separate line of negotiations. Its agenda includes food security, sea routes in the Black Sea, and a possible energy truce.
“Ukraine is interested in such a combination, as well as in other potential dimensions of the truce,” the diplomat noted.
According to Sybiga, diplomacy will play a key role at this stage, and Ukraine and partners are working on specific proposals for further steps.
On the eve, French President Emmanuel Macron proposed that Ukraine and Russia introduce a “double moratorium” on strikes on oil refineries and in the Black Sea . According to him, this should help contain the crisis in the global energy market and the rise in fuel prices.
By the way, the global diesel shortage caused by supply disruptions could persist until at least 2027. Diesel inventories in the US and Europe are dwindling, and fuel prices remain high.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump called on Ukraine to stop attacks on Russian fuel infrastructure, saying the Ukrainian attacks were causing a diesel fuel shortage .
