Türkiye to join Coalition of the Willing meeting

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing countries in Paris on January 6.

The Anadolu newspaper writes about this.

According to the publication, during the meeting, Fidan will voice the position of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in particular regarding the need for a diplomatic settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The Turkish Foreign Minister is expected to recall the three rounds of talks between the parties that took place in Istanbul in 2025 and yielded concrete humanitarian results, particularly on the issue of prisoner exchange.

Fidan will also confirm Ankara’s readiness to continue facilitating direct negotiations between the parties and emphasize Turkey’s interest in maintaining stability in the Black Sea.

Earlier, Zelensky announced a new meeting of the Coalition of the Willing: the date of the meeting has been announced.
