Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that security guarantees for Ukraine include a military response from the United States in the event of new Russian aggression.

This is reported by Onet, quoting the words of the Polish Prime Minister.

According to Tusk, during the meeting in Berlin it became clear: the US, Europe and Ukraine are acting in concert in support of Kyiv. The Prime Minister emphasized that the unity of the allies is key so that Moscow cannot divide the sides of the conflict.

“It is extremely important that we, together with the Americans and Ukrainians, act as allies, showing Putin that we will not allow our positions to be split,” Tusk noted.

He also emphasized that the issue of potential territorial concessions belongs exclusively to Ukraine. Poland and its allies have the task of supporting Kyiv in the negotiations, preventing any Russian victory in the confrontation.

Regarding security guarantees, Tusk stressed that the US and European countries can provide serious protection mechanisms for Ukraine, which are also important for Poland and neighboring states. According to him, in the event of new Russian aggression, the US is ready to give a military response, which actually brings these guarantees closer to the principle of NATO’s fifth article, although without a direct reference to it, so as not to complicate negotiations.

“This is similar to Article 5, but without a direct mention, so as not to complicate the negotiation process. However, the statement has far-reaching consequences,” the Polish Prime Minister concluded.

Recall that the United States, Ukraine and key European countries have made significant progress during intensive negotiations on ending the war, security guarantees and the future reconstruction of Ukraine. The American side calls the negotiations “very positive”, and the package of security guarantees is the strongest ever proposed.

As reported, Ukraine and the United States plan to hold a new round of talks as part of the preparation of a potential peace agreement. The consultations will involve working groups and military experts who will analyze maps.
