TV and radio went out in Kryvyi Rih due to drone attack
In Kryvyi Rih, central digital television and radio broadcasting has been disrupted after a massive attack by Russian drones. The drone hit an infrastructure facility, leading to a complete power outage of the television tower.
This was reported by the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
Olena Demchenko, a representative of the National Council in the Dnipropetrovsk region, clarified that the drone strike led to a complete power outage of the television tower. As a result, the signal of all digital multiplexes disappeared from the air.
Law enforcement officers are working at the scene and conducting urgent investigative actions. After the work of the special services is completed, specialists from the Concern for Radio Broadcasting, Radio Communications and Television will be able to begin restoring the equipment.
Engineers must assess the extent of the damage and determine the timing of signal restoration.
Due to a technical failure, city residents lost access to national television channels. The local Rudana TV channel, which remains one of the key sources of news for the community, also stopped broadcasting.
The city’s radio broadcasts were also affected. Stations 91.6 Lux, 93.2 Classic, and 93.6 Power FM stopped broadcasting. This reduced the ability to promptly inform the population about airstrikes and other threats.
At the same time, some media outlets continue to operate thanks to backup capacity. In particular, Radio Megapolis and Radio Kryvbas have maintained their broadcasts.
The First City TV channel also operates stably, as its signal is transmitted by the city’s cable networks.
Residents are advised to use alternative sources of information – Internet platforms and satellite tuners.
Earlier it was reported that Russian occupation forces attacked Kherson. A man was killed as a result of the shelling.
Let us remind you that the Russian occupation army attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region , in particular, Kryvyi Rih came under massive attack.
