In Ivano-Frankivsk region, heavy snowfall has caused large-scale snowdrifts on roads. In some areas, the height of the snow cover sometimes exceeds the height of an adult, which complicates traffic.

This was reported by the First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksiy Biloshitskyi.

According to him, the most difficult situation is recorded on the R-24 Tatariv – Kamianets-Podilskyi highway. On some sections of the road, the snow cover has formed dense drifts, through which travel is possible only after the work of special equipment.

The published materials show snow removal equipment paving a path in actual snow tunnels to restore communication between settlements.

As of now, restrictions for freight transport continue to apply in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. In particular, traffic is restricted on the section of the R-24 Tatariv – Kamianets-Podilskyi road at km 134–170.

Active work is underway to clear the road for cars near the village of Semakivtsi. Workers of the relevant services are cutting through significant snow masses.

Crews are providing support for snow removal equipment and assisting drivers who are stuck in snow traps. The situation is under constant monitoring, and road clearing work is ongoing.

By the way, over the past few days, Lviv has received about 70% of its monthly precipitation rate — almost 30 centimeters of snow . Due to the intense snowfall, city utilities were forced to work in an intensified mode.
