Two of Russia’s largest grain terminals in Novorossiysk have been suspended following a drone attack.
Following a nighttime attack by Ukrainian drones in Novorossiysk, Russia, two of the country’s largest grain terminals were suspended.
Reuters reports this, citing sources.
According to the agency, both terminals, located in one of the key ports in southern Russia, temporarily suspended operations due to the consequences of the Ukrainian attack.
The Novorossiysk Grain Terminal has a capacity of approximately 8.5 million tons per year. A Reuters source told us that damages and potential losses are currently being assessed.
Demetra Holding, the company that owns the terminal, confirmed that the facility sustained minor damage, but declined to disclose details.
Novorossiysk’s second major grain terminal has also suspended operations. Its export capacity is approximately 7.1 million tons per year.
Novorossiysk is of strategic importance for Russian grain exports. Russia is the world’s largest wheat exporter, and a significant portion of its grain shipments pass through Black Sea ports.
Reuters notes that last month, Russia’s largest grain lobby warned that further Ukrainian drone attacks could lead to the cessation of Russian grain exports across the Black Sea.

Russian air defenses remained in place for several hours, and local authorities reported damage to residential and commercial buildings due to falling debris. Occupied Crimea also came under attack, with explosions causing power outages in several communities.
