On September 2, an anti-landing mine exploded in the Black Sea in Koblevo, Mykolaiv Oblast. A 43-year-old man and his 42-year-old wife were killed, and two others were injured.
This was reported by the acting head of the Nikolaev police department, Georgy Reshetilov.
The 16-year-old daughter of the victims was injured in the explosion. She received medical attention. A 40-year-old woman was also injured and hospitalized in serious condition.
Reshetilov emphasized that the section of the coastline where the explosion occurred was closed and fenced off. Mine hazard warnings were also posted.
“Today’s tragedy once again proves that no decision can be made about opening beaches until experts confirm that they are safe to be there,” the regional governor said.
He urged people not to ignore warning signs and not to enter closed areas of the coast.
