Two refineries, tankers and an airfield: Defense Forces hit a number of strategic Russian facilities

On the night of Wednesday, July 8, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of strategic facilities on Russian territory, including two oil refineries, six shadow fleet tankers, a military airfield, and transport bridges.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In particular, the Saratov Oil Refinery, which is part of Rosneft and is one of the key enterprises in the Volga region, was hit. According to the General Staff, explosions and a fire were recorded on the territory of the plant. The plant’s capacity allows it to process about 7 million tons of oil per year.
Ukrainian military also struck the TAIF-NK oil refining complex in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan. A fire also broke out at the facility. The enterprise is one of the largest oil refining complexes in Russia and produces gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel.
In addition, six tankers of the Russian shadow fleet, which, according to the General Staff, were used to supply the occupation forces in southern Ukraine, were hit. One of them was in the Black Sea, and five more were in the Sea of Azov.
The defense forces also struck the Borisoglebsk military airfield in the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation and automobile bridges near the settlements of Urazovo and Shelayevo in the Belgorod region, which the enemy uses to transfer personnel, weapons, and ammunition.
The General Staff noted that the results of the defeat and the extent of the damage caused are currently being clarified.
As previously reported, after the attack by Ukrainian drones, the Omsk Oil Refinery (REF) stopped operations.
