Two suspects in attack on Ukrainians detained in Poland – Szybig

Polish law enforcement officers have detained two suspects in an attack on Ukrainian citizens in Wroclaw. Another possible attacker is currently being sought.
This was announced by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga.
According to Sybiga, the Ukrainian side expects a full, objective and impartial investigation, the establishment of all circumstances and motives of the crime, as well as fair punishment of the perpetrators.
“They are looking for a third. We expect a full, objective and impartial investigation, the establishment of all the circumstances and motives of the crime, as well as fair punishment of the perpetrators,” he wrote.
The Foreign Minister also thanked the Polish authorities, law enforcement agencies, and the President of Wroclaw, Jacek Sutryk, for their prompt response to the incident.
Sybiga stressed that Ukraine will closely monitor the progress of the investigation and provide the necessary consular assistance to the affected citizens.
In addition, he called on individual Polish politicians to stop inciting hatred, which, he said, leads to attacks on people.
“We need to seek dialogue and mutual respect, not reasons for hatred. Ukraine and Poland are doomed to pragmatic good-neighborliness and security protection from a common eternal enemy,” Szybiga emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that a Ukrainian girl and her boyfriend were brutally beaten in a store in Wroclaw. According to the victim’s mother, the conflict could have arisen because of the Ukrainian accent. Both victims were injured and hospitalized. Currently, the Polish police are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
