Rosneft’s Saratov oil refinery has stopped oil refining after a drone attack. Production facilities at the plant were damaged and fires broke out.
This is reported by The Moscow Times.
According to the publication, the plant’s only primary oil refining unit, AVT-6, has not been operating since August 2. The company has also stopped selling fuel on the St. Petersburg Commodity Exchange.
According to preliminary estimates, the restoration of the plant’s operations could take two to three weeks.
The Saratov refinery became the second major Russian oil refinery to halt production in August. Earlier, Lukoil’s Volgograd refinery, which is among the ten largest refineries in Russia and provides about 5% of the country’s total oil refining, also stopped processing oil.
