US President Donald Trump has announced that a UFC mixed martial arts tournament will be held on the South Lawn of the White House. The event is scheduled for July 4, 2026, and is timed to celebrate the 250th anniversary of US independence.

This is reported by YahooSports .

Donald Trump said that the United States will celebrate the anniversary of its independence in a unique way – by holding a UFC tournament right next to the presidential residence. According to him, about 5,000 guests are planned to be invited to the large-scale show. The president emphasized that it will be a “large-scale, grand and unprecedented event” that will demonstrate to the world the power of American sports and culture.

The event is being coordinated by UFC President Dana White, a longtime friend of Trump, who is confident the tournament will be a historic event.

“Trump is very proud of the White House, he sincerely loves America and believes that the residence belongs to the people. That is why he wants to open its doors to Americans,” he said.

According to White, the fighters will enter the arena from the legendary Oval Office, which will become a symbolic highlight of the tournament.

UFC stars are ready to take part in the competition. Irish fighter Conor McGregor has confirmed his participation and even named Michael Chandler as a possible opponent. Chandler himself does not hide his desire to meet McGregor and already calls this fight “the main event of the evening.” At the same time, another candidate for entering the octagon is called Jon Jones, although his participation is in question due to past scandals.

Thus, the US can get not only a festive military parade and salute, but also a spectacular sports tournament that will go down in history as the first UFC fight within the walls of the White House.

Recall that in July it will be reported that in honor of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of US independence, US President Donald Trump hopes to hold a mixed martial arts competition on the White House grounds.
