Ukraine and Azerbaijan signed six agreements: focus on security and joint production

On April 25, Ukraine and Azerbaijan signed six bilateral agreements concerning security, defense cooperation, and the economy.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a joint statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev .

According to Zelenskyy, the key focus of the agreements was security and the development of the defense industry. The parties also reached agreements on joint production and the work of Ukrainian experts in Azerbaijan.

The President emphasized that co-production cooperation will contribute to both strengthening the security of both countries and increasing trade turnover.

Zelenskyy also thanked Azerbaijan for 11 energy aid packages and support for children evacuated from Ukraine’s border areas. The parties also agreed to develop cooperation in education, specifically the education of Azerbaijani students in Ukrainian institutions.

In turn, Aliyev confirmed the high level of bilateral cooperation and noted that military-technical cooperation has significant potential, particularly in the area of joint production.

According to him, the current trade turnover between the countries exceeds 500 million dollars and has all the prerequisites for further growth.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Azerbaijan on Saturday, April 25.
