On March 17, the leaders of Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a declaration on deepening cooperation in the field of security and the defense industry.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“This is an important step to strengthen our defense,” he emphasized.

As the press service of the President’s Office noted , the meeting between Zelensky and Starmer was focused on the development of joint defense production and strengthening Ukrainian air defense with additional missiles.

At the same time, the British government website previously reported on its intentions to agree on a new global partnership with Ukraine.

Within the framework of the agreements, they plan to use the experience of Ukraine and the industrial base of the United Kingdom for the production and supply of drones.

The countries will also consider opportunities to expand defense-industrial and technological cooperation with other states.

“We must work in step with our partners and allies to ensure security at home and abroad, and this new partnership with Ukraine will do just that. Drones, electronic warfare and rapid innovation on the battlefield are now central to national and economic security, and this has only been exacerbated by the conflict in the Middle East,” Starmer noted.

Recall that at the beginning of the year, the Ukrainian and French presidents and the Prime Minister of Great Britain signed a declaration of intent regarding the future deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine.
