Ukraine and Moldova are preparing bypass routes after the Russian attack on the bridge in Mayaki
After the Russian attack on the bridge in the Mayaki area, the authorities focused their work on providing alternative routes for transport in southern Ukraine. This includes passenger transportation, freight transport, and transit flows to border checkpoints and in the Danube direction.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba.
According to him, together with military administrations, road services and border guards, they immediately began working on other routes. Transport is being redirected taking into account the security situation and the capacity of the road network.
In parallel, coordination with the Republic of Moldova is ongoing. The parties are working on transit routes and alternative communication routes to maintain stable logistics operations in southern Ukraine.
Kuleba stressed that since the beginning of autumn, Russia has been systematically using kamikaze drones and ballistic missiles to strike logistics routes in front-line regions. The aim of such attacks is to put pressure on the civilian population, complicate movement, and disrupt supplies.
“We are working to restore and protect our logistics. Work on organizing alternative routes is ongoing,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
It was previously reported that in the Odessa region, traffic was restricted to certain checkpoints on the border with Moldova due to a Russian air attack.
