Ukraine and Moldova signed an agreement on military cooperation: details

Ukraine and Moldova signed an agreement on military-technical cooperation on October 26. In particular, Moldova wants to adopt Ukrainian experience in combating drones to better protect its airspace.

This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretsky during a joint briefing with his Moldovan counterpart Vasile Tofan in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports .

According to Koretsky, the new agreement will allow the countries to exchange experience in the military sphere. Ukraine also suggested that Moldova become more actively involved in the work of the Demining Coalition.

For his part, the Moldovan Prime Minister noted that his country is interested in Ukrainian anti-drone technologies. According to him, Ukraine’s experience in countering drones can help Moldova strengthen its own air defense.

“We want to adopt this experience and find solutions to protect our airspace,” Tofan said.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the common path to the European Union. Koretsky stressed that the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU is important not only for the security of both states, but also for the development of the economy, trade, and transport connections.

He noted that the countries have close economic ties, so a joint move towards the EU will help attract investment and develop trade.

In addition, Ukraine and Moldova plan to continue cooperation within the framework of the intergovernmental commission and the “Odessa Triangle”, which also includes Romania. According to Koretsky, the countries plan to hold a meeting in this format in the near future.
