Ukraine plans to establish joint production of interceptors for Patriot air defense systems together with the American company Raytheon.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a meeting with a company delegation led by Vice President Joseph DeAntona.

According to the head of state, the parties are ready to take cooperation to a new level and begin joint production of one of the most important elements of the air defense system – interceptor missiles for Patriot.

“I am grateful for the company’s willingness to take our partnership to an even higher level, when Ukraine will jointly produce with Raytheon one of the most important air defense assets – interceptors for Patriot,” Zelenskyy noted.

The president also said that he had previously discussed this initiative with US President Donald Trump during a meeting in Ankara.

In addition to the production of interceptors, the parties discussed the development of cooperation in other areas, in particular the production of non-offensive military equipment.

The next step will be to work out the practical details of the future partnership between the Ukrainian and US government teams together with Raytheon representatives.

It was previously reported that the United States has begun the process of granting Ukraine a license to produce missiles for Patriot systems , moving this issue from the political plane to practical implementation.
