Ukraine and Russia conducted a prisoner exchange

Ukraine and Russia conducted the latest round of prisoner of war exchanges. Two hundred individuals returned from Russian captivity. Among them were defenders of Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia. These included members of the Armed Forces, the State Special Transport Service, border guards, and National Guard troops.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this.

“Today, 200 Ukrainian families received the most anticipated news: their loved ones are returning home. And this is always good news for all of us, for the entire country – the return of our people to their native land. Among those returning are defenders of Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, Luhansk Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, and Zaporizhzhia, as well as National Guard soldiers,” he wrote.

“Every time we return to our homes, it proves that Ukraine is working to bring back each and every one. We are not forgetting anyone. We are engaging intermediaries. I am grateful to everyone who is helping Ukraine. Thank you to the United States for your support in making this exchange possible. I am grateful to all our soldiers on the front lines who are replenishing the exchange fund for Ukraine,” the president added.
