The United Kingdom and Ukraine have signed an agreement to supply air defense missiles from Thales to the SOU.
This was reported on the UK government website.
According to the agreement, the British company will produce missiles for Ukraine’s air defense systems for the next 19 years. In total, the United Kingdom will supply Ukraine with 5,000 missiles, for which up to 2.5 billion pounds have been allocated.
“We are ensuring the supply of vital equipment to Ukraine and strengthening our own defence industrial base. This is a clear demonstration of our Change Plan in action – supporting British business, increasing exports and standing shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression,” said UK Export Minister Gareth Thomas.
It is noted that this agreement will be signed on Thursday, July 10, at a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine in Rome.
Earlier, the United Kingdom announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth 70 million pounds . For the first time, these funds will come not from the budget, but from interest accrued on frozen Russian assets.
