Ukraine and the United States discuss potential free trade agreement
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he is discussing a possible free trade agreement with the United States.
He said this in a telephone interview with Bloomberg.
A potential deal with the United States is possible as part of a prosperity package aimed at stimulating Ukraine’s post-war recovery.
In particular, the relevant agreements will provide for zero tariffs on trade with the United States. The agreement will apply to some industrially developed regions of Ukraine.
According to Zelensky, this will provide “very serious advantages” compared to neighboring countries, in addition, such a step may attract investment and business.
The Ukrainian president is now expected to discuss the agreement in more detail with US leader Donald Trump.
However, he is already convinced that it will be an additional guarantee of economic security for Ukraine.
Recall that Ukraine, together with the United States of America, plans to create a number of investment funds , in particular the American-Ukrainian fund for the reconstruction of the country after the war.
