Ukraine and the US will hold a meeting: when and what will they talk about

The Ukrainian and American negotiating teams will meet at the end of August to discuss future negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre.
“Today there will be a meeting with Kellogg to continue this topic, to develop preparations for the possibility of a future meeting with the Russian side. At the end of the week there will be a meeting of the Ukrainian team and the American team. Accordingly, the people you mentioned, or some of those people,” Zelenskyy said.
He also noted that “there will be a lot of work” during the week. Zelenskyy reported that on August 24, contacts were held between the head of the Ukrainian People’s Party, Andriy Yermak, with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other partners.
Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga also joined the online meeting of the G7 foreign ministers.
“Today we have a conversation between our military leadership and partners. There will also be a meeting of national security advisers on Wednesday,” Zelenskyy noted.
The President of Ukraine expressed the opinion that the meeting would develop a basic plan for security guarantees.
“I think that the details still need time. We still need to work. And after that, I would like to understand from the American side whether the Russians are ready and for what configuration. Are the Russians ready for the configuration that was proposed by America and supported by Ukraine in the presence of European leaders – a bilateral and then a trilateral meeting,” the president emphasized.
As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Russia is doing everything to prevent his meeting with Putin from taking place .
It was previously reported that a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin could take place in the coming weeks . According to European diplomatic sources, Hungary is being considered as a potential venue for the talks.
