The war in Ukraine may end soon, as the parties realize the need for it to end.
This is reported by Bloomberg.
Head of the Presidential Office Kirill Budanov stated that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are gradually progressing and may lead to an agreement.
“Everyone understands that the war must be ended. Unlike us, the Russians are spending their own money. These are huge sums, already in the trillions. So they are negotiating. I don’t think it will take long,” he said.
According to Budanov, the parties are still maintaining tough positions, but are gradually moving towards a compromise. At the same time, the issue of territories remains the key and most difficult in the negotiations.
After the statements of the Ukrainian side, financial markets reacted positively: Ukrainian bonds rose and the euro strengthened. At the same time, sources close to the Kremlin claim that there is no real breakthrough – the negotiations are being slowed down by disputes over security guarantees and conditions for ending the war.
It was previously reported that Russia began to mobilize strategic reserves to replenish its troops on the front in Ukraine.
