Ukraine convenes energy Ramstein to attract additional international support for the energy sector amid Russian shelling.
This was reported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga.
According to him, the decision was made in fulfillment of the instructions of President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. The event is being prepared jointly with the Ministry of Energy.
At the energy Ramstein, Ukraine expects to receive additional financial contributions, equipment, and specific obligations from partners to strengthen the energy system in the face of winter attacks.
Sybiga noted that negotiations with partners on energy support are continuing in an emergency mode. In parallel, Ukraine is working with the European Energy Community to replenish the Energy Support Fund and purchase equipment.
The minister emphasized that international assistance to the energy sector is directly related to strengthening air defense, because the best protection for the energy system is the destruction of Russian missiles and drones while still in the air.
As previously reported, in connection with the emergency situation in the energy sector, the Government has identified a set of measures to overcome its consequences.
