Ukraine enters heat zone: summer 2026 promises to be difficult
Ukraine may experience abnormally hot weather with temperatures up to +40°C in the summer of 2026. Forecasters warn of prolonged heat waves and lack of precipitation in various regions of the country.
This is stated in the Telegraf article.
According to forecasters, weather processes can be shaped by the El Niño phenomenon, a natural climate phenomenon that affects ocean temperatures and weather around the world, including Europe and Ukraine.
Forecaster Natalia Ptukha notes that summer can be unstable and hot at the same time, with sharp periods of elevated temperatures.
The World Meteorological Organization also predicts that 2026–2029 could be among the warmest years on record.
The most difficult period may be heat waves, when daytime temperatures reach +35…+40°C and at night do not drop below +25°C. Such conditions may last longer than usual, especially in the second half of summer.
