Ukraine, Europe, and the US summit to be held in the UK: preparations for Trump and Putin meeting

Today, August 9, a meeting of national security advisers from Ukraine, the United States, and European states will take place in the United Kingdom.

The meeting will be hosted by British Foreign Secretary David Lemmy and US Vice President J.D. Vance.

As Axios notes , during the summit, national security advisers will try to reach common positions before the planned meeting between Putin and Trump.

In addition, a spokesman for the British government informed that Keir Starmer and Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation.

“Both leaders welcomed President Trump’s desire to end this barbaric war and agreed that we must continue to pressure Putin to end his illegal war,” he noted.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump informed European leaders of his intention to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week, and later to organize a trilateral meeting with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Subsequently, a senior White House official said that a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is scheduled for the end of next week .
