Ukraine faces a sharp cold snap after snowfall
A sharp cold snap is expected in Ukraine on January 10-11 – in a number of regions the temperature will drop to -23 degrees Celsius. Snow, blizzards, and ice are forecast before the sharp cold snap.

According to forecasts, weather conditions will become significantly more difficult on January 8-9. In the western regions, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr regions, 10 to 25 centimeters of snow will fall, blizzards and wind gusts up to 15-18 m/s are possible. Snowdrifts will form on the roads.
In Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, forecasters predict heavy snow and sleet, snowdrifts, blizzards and ice. In the south of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, as well as in Sumy and Cherkasy regions , snow with rain and ice in places are expected.
The most noticeable cold snap will come on January 10-11. In the western and northern regions, as well as in Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions, the temperature at night will drop to 14-20 degrees below zero, in places – to 23 degrees, and during the day it will remain at 9-15 degrees below zero.
In Kirovohrad and Poltava regions, temperatures are forecast to be 6-12 degrees below zero. In the south, east of the country, and Dnipropetrovsk region, temperatures will range from 4 degrees below zero to 4 degrees Celsius.
Rescuers urge drivers and pedestrians to be as careful as possible, take weather conditions into account when planning trips, and follow safety rules.
