Ukraine for the first time revealed the characteristics of the “Palyanytsya” missile drone: range, speed and capabilities
The technical characteristics of the Ukrainian drone-missile “Palyanytsya” have become known for the first time. Its details were made public during the MSPO 2025 international arms exhibition in Poland, where Ukroboronprom presented new renderings of this development.
This is reported by Defense Express .
It is worth recalling that the existence of “Palyanytsia” first became known on August 24, 2024, on Ukraine’s Independence Day, but information about its capabilities remained classified for over a year.
The “Palyanytsya” reportedly weighs 320 kg , of which up to 100 kg is the payload. It is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 650 km , which actually covers most of the enemy’s strategic military facilities indicated in previous maps of possible strikes. The drone-missile flies at an altitude of 15 to 500 meters , which allows it to overcome air defenses and remain invisible to air defense systems.
“Palyanytsya” is equipped with navigation systems based on GPS and inertial technology , which ensures accuracy of destruction. Launch is carried out using a solid-fuel accelerator, after which a jet engine comes into operation. Its maximum speed reaches 900 km/h , which makes it comparable to the Russian Kh-101 cruise missiles.
In terms of dimensions, the drone-rocket has a length of 3.5 meters and a wingspan of 1.7 meters . Interestingly, compared to previous renders, the shape of the wings has changed, but the body and tail remained unchanged.
Despite the disclosure of technical characteristics, there is currently no official confirmation of its combat use, as well as photos of real samples. Only renderings are publicly available. At the same time, there have been previous speculations that the “Palyanytsya” could have been used during the explosion of an ammunition depot in the Russian city of Toropets.
By the way, new Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missiles hit an FSB outpost and patrol boats in temporarily occupied Crimea.
It was previously reported that Ukraine struck the border zone near the village of Voloshyne in Crimea with a “Neptun”, but Military’s interlocutors in military circles clarified that the strike was carried out with “Flamingo” cruise missiles.
The day before, on August 31 , new footage of the launch of the Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missile was published on social networks .
Recall that in August 2024, Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the first successful combat use of a new Ukrainian weapon — the long-range drone missile “Palyanytsya”.
