Due to Russian shelling, Ukraine stopped the process of filling underground gas storage facilities at the beginning of the week.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing data from the GTS Operator and European gas platforms.

In addition, this was affected by the suspension of gas imports through Polish territory. As noted, modernization work is underway at the connection point between the Polish and Ukrainian systems.

Previously, gas imports through Poland amounted to over 9 million cubic meters per day.

It is planned to resume on October 23. However, for three days it will be limited to 6.48 million cubic meters per day.

Against the backdrop of the shutdown, the gas supply in the underground storage facility decreased by 0.01%.

As a reminder, amid increasing Russian attacks on the energy system, Ukraine plans to increase gas imports by a third and has already begun negotiations with international partners.

As is known, Russia has recently intensified attacks on the Ukrainian energy grid, in particular on gas installations , which are key components of the country’s heating system.
