Ukraine has agreed to the US peace plan, Russia has not yet reacted

Ukraine has given preliminary consent to the American peace proposal to end the war, but the process is being slowed down by the complete lack of reaction from Russia.

This was reported by CBS News, citing a high-ranking US official.

According to the source, Kyiv has officially agreed to the peace formula proposed by Washington. Only “a few technical details” remain that the parties must agree on before signing the document.

“The Ukrainians have agreed to a peace agreement,” the TV channel’s interlocutor said.

“There are a few minor nuances, but overall they agreed.”

Earlier it became known that US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll arrived in Abu Dhabi to hold talks with the Russian delegation. According to US officials, he is actively negotiating, moving “from one meeting to another” throughout the day.

Washington assesses the dynamics of the negotiations as positive:

“We remain very optimistic. Driscoll is very positive. We hope to get a response from the Russians soon. Everything is moving faster than expected,” the CBS News source added.

Currently, the main intrigue remains Moscow’s position – the Russian Federation has not published any reaction to the updated US proposal, which is holding back a potential breakthrough in the negotiations.

As is known, Moscow reacted sharply to the updated version of the peace plan for resolving the war against Ukraine – Russian representatives actually rejected the document, stating that it “does not lead to a result.”

As a reminder, US Defense Secretary Dan Driscoll held talks with Russian representatives in Abu Dhabi, trying to advance the peace process between Moscow and Kyiv . This meeting was the latest initiative by the Donald Trump administration to find ways to end the war.

We would like to add that the day before yesterday , a meeting of the US and Ukrainian delegations took place in Geneva, during which the parties discussed the updated American peace proposal. The negotiations showed significant progress and agreement on positions on further steps.

As reported, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin had not received official information about negotiations involving the United States, Ukraine, and European countries in Geneva . This means that Russia is not yet planning to hold talks with the American delegation on Ukraine.
