Ukraine has made a significant change to one of the key points of the US peace plan, eliminating verification of international aid.

The Wall Street Journal reports this, citing a high-ranking American official.

Yes, one of the plan’s provisions called for an audit of all international aid to Ukraine. This provision was obviously intended to help uncover potential corruption. However, the wording has changed, and now it states that all parties will receive “a full amnesty for their actions during the war.”

For their part, American officials stated that they were carefully coordinating the terms of the agreement with Kyiv. And according to White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, Secretary of the National Defense Council and Ukraine Rustem Umerov allegedly approved “most of the plan” during talks with US officials.

As a reminder, the United States prepared a draft security guarantee for Ukraine as part of Donald Trump’s “peace initiative.” The document is based on principles similar to NATO’s Article 5, which stipulates a collective Western response in the event of a new Russian attack on Ukraine.

As reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially received a framework peace agreement developed by American officials.
