The Wild Hornets team announced the creation of a new STING fighter jet interceptor, which has already proven its effectiveness on the front. In four months of serial production, the defenders of Ukraine shot down over a thousand STING fighters and gerberas, almost half of them in October.
This is reported by ” Wild Hornets “.
The development of the complex lasted for more than a year. The team conducted hundreds of tests, made dozens of trips to the front, and invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in creating a mass, simple, and affordable means of intercepting shaheeds. According to the developers, the goal was to create an effective and mobile tool for combating drones, and this goal was achieved.
STING is a fast and maneuverable drone that can be deployed in less than fifteen minutes . Launching does not require a catapult – the drone takes off from any flat surface, gains altitude in seconds and instantly catches up with the target. In the event that the shaheed is not detected or is destroyed by other drones, STING can be returned for reuse.
The drone effectively destroys shaheeds at a distance of up to twenty-five kilometers. It is compatible with any FPV station, but works best with the ground control station of the Wild Hornets’ own development. STING can also be equipped with the Hornet Vision digital television system, which provides high accuracy of guidance.
Operator training takes up to three days and is conducted at the Night Hornets training center. According to the developers, thousands of drones are now rolling off the assembly line every month, and dozens, and sometimes hundreds, of suicide bombers are killed every night using these interceptors.
The team thanked Ukrainians who supported the initiative through Serhiy Sternenko’s fundraising and other funds. The developers also expressed their gratitude to Ukrainian soldiers for the effective use of STING in combat conditions.
“We’re just getting started. More to come!” the Wild Hornets team said.
We remind you that the participants of the Brave1 cluster, together with the 3rd assault brigade, created a unique drone with artificial intelligence .
Previously, the Brave1 defense cluster initiated the development of anti-drone rounds , which significantly increase the military’s chances of hitting a moving target.
