Following US Presidential Envoy Keith Kellogg’s statement about the possible recruitment of women into military service, Ukraine responded to the issue of mobilization.

The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized that there is no forced mobilization of women in Ukraine, nor are there any plans for it. Ukrainian women can join the Defense Forces only voluntarily.

The head of the Center for Political Studies, Andrey Kovalenko, announced this on Telegram.

Kellogg was previously asked whether he considered the mobilization of women in Ukraine necessary. The American representative responded that he supported the idea of recruiting women into military service, noting that they could fight just as well as men.

Kellogg also added that his wife and daughter are military personnel.

At the same time, Kovalenko emphasized that the American official’s words represent his personal position and do not signify a change in Ukrainian mobilization policy.

According to him, there are no decisions on mandatory mobilization of women in Ukraine. The Center for Political Studies also noted that Russia could exploit the issue of women’s mobilization to spread disinformation and manipulation.
