Ukraine has fully synchronized the 13th and 14th packages of sanctions against Russia with the European Union.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Our institutions have begun to implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the synchronization of European sanctions and Ukrainian sanctions. The 13th and 14th packages of EU sanctions are fully synchronized. These will now also be 100% Ukrainian sanctions. Today I approved this,” Zelenskyy noted.
According to him, Ukraine is also fully synchronizing European sanctions against the Iranian regime.
“There are many figures, many companies, and not only those related to military production and external terror schemes against neighbors in the region, but also internal repression in Iran,” the president explained.
He added that Iran has one of the most brutal regimes in the world.
Zelensky assured that Ukraine will continue to work on synchronization, emphasizing that he expects “fast movement” from state institutions.
“Sanctions should now be one of the key priorities. The world’s sanctions against Russia are what really limits Russia’s strategic development opportunities, its potential, and should increasingly painfully limit Russia’s ability to continue this war every day,” he concluded.
As a reminder, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot expressed hope that the European Commission will present the 18th package of sanctions against Russia by the end of June.
By the way, the European Union is considering the possibility of disconnecting more than 20 Russian banks from the international SWIFT system as part of a new package of sanctions against Russia.
It was previously reported that the 18th package of sanctions from the EU will include companies from China, the UAE, and Hong Kong .
