Ukraine has implemented 17 out of 42 decisions to receive international funding

The Ukrainian government has entered a maximum austerity regime and has postponed all non-priority expenditures. However, these measures are not enough, so it is critical for the country to continue receiving funding from international partners.

Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky reported this on Telegram.

According to him, receiving international funds directly depends on whether Ukraine fulfills its obligations. They provide for two blocks of changes – a government decision and the adoption of the necessary laws in the Verkhovna Rada.

At the meeting on September 30, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted four more decisions on the government’s part of the commitments. In total, Ukraine has implemented 17 of the 42 planned steps.

The government plans to complete the remaining 25 decisions by October 15.

Koretsky stressed that the work must be accelerated as much as possible over the next two weeks. According to him, any delays could have a high price, since the funding necessary for the defense and stability of the state depends on the fulfillment of obligations.

The Prime Minister also thanked the MPs who supported some of the necessary bills in the first reading last plenary week. The Cabinet, he said, will continue to work with the Parliament to fulfill the remaining obligations.

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko also called on the Verkhovna Rada to fulfill Ukraine’s obligations to the EU . Among the necessary steps, he named the reboot of the State Bureau of Investigation, the adoption and implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy, the resumption of competitions in the prosecutor’s office, strengthening the independence of the NABU and the SAPO, and other changes in the rule of law. European Solidarity declared its readiness to support the vote for these reforms.
