Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree imposing sanctions against Russian judges who illegally sentenced Ukrainian prisoners of war.

This is stated on the website of the presidential online representation.

The new restrictions include 41 people, 38 of whom are Russian citizens and three others are collaborators. It is noted that all of the sanctioned individuals support the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine.

In particular, one of them — a Russian — convicted nine prisoners of war in the course of a week on fabricated terrorism charges.

At the same time, the sanctions also affected Ukrainians who defected to the enemy. In temporarily occupied Donetsk, they sentenced to death three volunteers — two Britons and a Moroccan who fought as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Among other things, sanctioned judges made illegal decisions against public figures, activists, and journalists because of their political and religious beliefs.

“Sanctions against the so-called ‘judges’ who hand down politically motivated sentences to our citizens, soldiers, are a matter of justice. It is especially shameful to see among them former Ukrainians who knowingly became collaborators and turned the court into repression,” noted Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasyuk.

Separately, Zelensky extended expiring sanctions against 11 Russian companies. These include an aircraft repair company, a company specializing in the development and manufacture of drones, and legal entities illegally operating in occupied Crimea.

“The first sanctions against them were imposed in 2021 and 2023. During this time, three companies from this list were completely liquidated, which once again demonstrates the importance of applying sanctions,” the website states.

As you know, on the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion, February 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree introducing new sanctions against Russians.

Earlier, a decree appeared imposing sanctions against 10 Russian transport and logistics companies . These are companies that deliver cargo to Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied by Russia.

As a reminder, in February, Zelensky implemented the NSDC decision to impose sanctions against 225 captains of ships of the Russian shadow fleet and individuals and companies associated with servicing the Russian military-industrial complex.
