Ukraine has introduced a new package of sanctions against Russia: who is on the list?

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has implemented a decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against 10 Russian mobile operators and internet providers. The restrictions include companies that provide communications for the occupation authorities and operate in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree putting into effect the NSDC’s decision to impose sanctions on 10 Russian mobile operators and Internet providers.

Among the companies subject to sanctions are “Luhansk Communications” and “Mobile Communication Systems” , which, according to the Office of the President, Russia uses to spread its narratives and disinformation about the situation in Ukraine.

Sanctions have also been imposed against the federal satellite and telecommunications operator Amtel-Zvyazok , which provides communications for the Russian authorities, and the enterprise Kosmichny Zvyazok , which provides secure communication channels for waging war against Ukraine.

The Office of the President noted that sanctioned companies provide confidential communication channels for occupation structures, as well as Internet access in temporarily occupied territories for entities cooperating with Russia.

In addition, internet service providers, satellite operators, and companies that broadcast Russian TV channels have been sanctioned. Ukraine also plans to share information about these companies with international partners and raise the issue of synchronizing sanctions in other jurisdictions.

“Any activity in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine is illegal. Companies that knowingly work for the TOT and serve the occupation authorities become toxic for international business and the financial system. That is why Ukraine is applying sanctions that should make their activities impossible not only in the temporarily occupied territories, but also anywhere outside of Russia,” said Vladyslav Vlasyuk, Commissioner for Sanctions Policy.

By the way, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against Russian propagandists, media organizations, and judges . Restrictive measures for a period of 10 years have been applied to 29 individuals and 17 legal entities.

Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed decrees on the implementation of decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on sanctions against the Russian military and vessels related to the military logistics of the Russian Federation . The sanctions lists included 127 individuals and 29 civilian merchant vessels.
